The Trust
Status
Kirkcolm Community Trust is a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) SC047165, established in 2017 and based in the Village and Parish of Kirkcolm on the Northern Rhins of Dumfries and Galloway.
Purpose
Social and economic development and environmental protection are at the heart of what we do in order to provide the best possible life experience for people of all ages living within the parish.
Partnerships and memberships
We are members of DTAS (Development Trust Association Scotland) SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) and Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway. We work co-operatively with Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Governance
We are a two-tier SCIO meaning that we are run by a board of Trustees who in turn are appointed annually by members of the Trust. We operate to DTAS Guidelines and are regulated by OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator) to whom we report annually and provide audited accounts.

2017
Foundation of Kirkcolm Community Trust
The Trust was established to address local needs and promote community development.
2018
Launch of First Community Project
Initiated our first project aimed at improving local amenities and services.

Economic Support Initiatives
Developed initiatives to support local businesses and stimulate economic growth within the community.

First Staff Member
The Trust employed its first member of staff.
2023
Car Park Asset Transfer
The Trust took ownership of the car park.
2024
Winning Awards
Kirkcolm became an award-winning village.

The Trust employed its second member of staff.
